Former CM Uma Bharti Opposes Plying Cruise On Narmada
There is a proposal to operate a cruise from the Dhar district in MP to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat

Uma Bharti | FPJ
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Former chief minister Uma Bharti has opposed the proposed operation of cruise on the Narmada.
She wrote on social media that the government was planning to operate a cruise on the Narmada in Maheshwar and Barwani. The proposal was put up three years ago, but it was cancelled, she wrote.
There are paths for circumambulation (Parikrama Marg) on both the banks of the river, she said.
According to her, once the proposed cruise begins to ply, there will be all activities, including eating. There has been a waterway in the Ganga between Bengal and Prayagraj, but it never happened in the Narmada, she wrote.
According to her, it is the river around which many people perform circumambulation. Thus, cruise operation may damage the purity of the river, she said. She also wrote she would speak to the chief minister about it.
