Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh): A 55-year-old farmer was killed in a land dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar district, as reported on Sunday.

The matter took place in Karmai village where the victim’s family staged a protest by blocking the road near the hospital and demanding an FIR.

The protest continued for around 3 hours and was calmed down after police intervention. Later, the family again blocked the road at Rajmata Chauraha by placing the body there. The accused is still on the run.

Murder over land dispute

According to information, the reason for the incident was an old land dispute. A few days ago, Kailash Ahirwar, a neighbor of the victim Dashrath Singh Yadav, got his land measured. During this, one bigha of Dashrath Singh's land was shown as part of Kailash’s field. Dashrath had accepted this mistake.

On Friday, Kailash invited Vijaypal Yadav from the village to plough his field. Vijaypal used a tractor and accidentally covered the boundary line of the field. Later, Dashrath Singh went to Vijaypal's house to ask about this. A heated argument broke out between them.

Family members allege that Vijaypal then attacked Dashrath Singh with a brick. Dashrath fell to the ground. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Around 11 a.m. the next morning, the family blocked the hospital road in protest. SDOP Vivek Sharma and police officer Satyendra Kushwaha arrived at the spot and convinced the family to calm down.

Police are still searching for the accused.
