Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Jabalpur police have cracked the case of the recent robbery of 14 kgs of gold and ₹5 lakh in cash at ESAF Finance Company in Khitola, as reported on Thursday.

According to information, the mastermind behind the crime was Raees Singh, who had recently been released from an Odisha jail. He allegedly planned the heist inside the jail itself.

He teamed up with notorious criminals from Bihar to execute the plan. With the help of his associate, Sonu Barman, he rented a room in Indrana village, posing as a loan recovery agent to blend in. He closely observed the bank’s movements every day.

Later, on Monday (August 11), the robbers managed to escape with 14.5 kg of gold and ₹5 lakh in cash in just 20 minutes, outsmarting both the police and security systems.

According to villagers, 4-5 young men had been living in the village for the past 10 days, always wearing helmets and roaming the area on bikes from morning till night.

Police have detained Jitendra Jhariya from Indrana village, recovering an unregistered bike, a pistol, and suspicious items from his house.

The police have not confirmed whether the stolen gold has been recovered, but sources say some crucial leads have been found. After the 20-minute robbery, police are now racing to track down all the accused.
