Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Police arrested a woman and her male partner for duping an engineering student of ₹3 lakh by promising him a job in Indian Railways. The incident took place in Sanjeevani Nagar area of Jabalpur.
According to information, the student was looking for a job when he met the accused. They told him they could get him a railway job and said some steps were required, like a medical test, training, and a uniform.
They asked him to pay ₹3 lakh for the process.
The accused then called him to a hotel and made him go through a fake medical test.
They gave him a fake ID card and medical report and even dressed him in a railway uniform. They told him his selection was confirmed. The accused started giving him fake training at a hotel, which they said was a railway guest house. Later, they demanded an additional ₹ 2 lakh and said it had to be paid quickly.
When the student started doubting them, he filed a complaint at Sanjeevani Nagar police station.
Police investigated and arrested both the woman and the man involved in the fraud.
