Damoh Fake Doctor Case: 5 Patients Died The Day They Were Operated |

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh’s Monsoon Session unwrapped more layers in Damoh fake doctor John Camm case. 

The last 5 patients of Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, accused of impersonating UK-based cardiologist Dr John Camm, died on the same day they underwent an operation i.e. angioplasty, reported Indian Express.

List of victims

According to records, the first patient was 63-year-old Raheesa Begum, who underwent the procedure on January 15. 

She was followed by 75-year-old Israel Khan on January 17, 

67-year-old Buddha Ahirwar on January 25, 

65-year-old Mangal Singh Rajput on February 2, 

and 51-year-old Satyendra Singh Rathore on February 11.

Out of 12 patients Yadav performed angioplasty on, 3 passed away after the procedure and 2 during it. The first procedure was performed on January 2, 2025 and the last one on February 11. He resigned shortly after and reportedly left the hospital premises with a portable echo machine. In April, he was arrested from Uttar Pradesh and currently, is under custody.

Health officials were not informed: Dy CM Rajendra Shukla

Regarding  the matter, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla informed the Assembly that Mission Hospital in Damoh failed to inform authorities about the appointment of Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav (alias Narendra John Camm) as required by regulations. 

Additionally, no inspections were conducted during his tenure. Shukla clarified that Yadav joined the hospital on January 3, 2025, but his details were not shared with the Chief Medical and Health Officer. This prevented the verification of his qualifications. 

The Assembly was also told that action had been taken against senior medical officials in Damoh for alleged negligence.

What was the matter?

In April 2025, advocate Deepak Tiwari, president of Damoh district’s child welfare committee filed a complaint alleging that a man named Narendra Yadav had been posing as a cardiologist under the false identity of Dr N John Kem, a legitimate UK-based doctor.

Additionally, he conducted surgeries at the hospital on over a dozen patients.
