Cm Pushes For 100% Rural Road Connectivity In 3 Years: Out Of 89,000 Settlements In The State, 50,658 Have Been Connected With Roads | FPJ
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a major push for rural infrastructure, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed officials to ensure road connectivity to all settlements across Madhya Pradesh within the next three years.
Currently, out of 89,000 settlements in the state, 50,658 have been connected with roads. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Phase 4, surveys have been completed for 11,544 more settlements. Efforts are now underway to extend road connectivity to the remaining 26,798 settlements.
CM Yadav issued these directives while reviewing the PMGSY during a meeting of the Rural Road Development Authority at Samatava Bhawan on Wednesday. He emphasized the need for a scientific assessment of road requirements and stressed that action plan should be formulated accordingly.

He also highlighted the importance of consulting MLAs and Panchayat representatives to determine local road infrastructure needs.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to remain vigilant in addressing road damage caused by extreme weather conditions such as floods. He emphasised the use of mobile applications, geo-tagging and AI technology for road maintenance and monitoring. He also called for proactive surveys to identify priority areas for lane expansion and road upgrades.
Panchayat Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain were also present at the meeting.
