Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): On the first day of his investment-focused Dubai tour, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav received a major proposal of Rs 1,000 crore from an Indore-origin entrepreneur to develop a Sustainable City with zero carbon emissions in Madhya Pradesh.

The proposal came from CA Praveen Mehta during a business networking event organised by the Indori International Business Network (IIBN). Mehta also proposed an additional Rs 100 crore investment in a private initiative to support senior citizens. The CM said that the state is already running schemes for elderly residents whose children live abroad.

At the same IIBN meet, Anju Bhatia, CEO of Future Wise Education, proposed setting up a campus for foreign universities in Madhya Pradesh under the National Education Policy 2020, enabling students to earn international degrees without leaving the state.

The event was attended by over 25 CEOs and 15 industrialists. IIBN, a UAE-licensed platform of over 750 professionals from Indore, includes doctors, engineers, bankers, educationists and traders.

IIBN members expressed enthusiasm about investment prospects in Madhya Pradesh, praising its business climate and governance. Earlier, CM received a warm welcome from Indian diaspora.

CM Yadav arrived in Dubai on Sunday as part of his July 13–19 official tour to Dubai and Spain, aimed at attracting foreign investment into Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking before departure, he said the visit aims to highlight the state’s investor-friendly policies, sectoral strengths and emerging industrial zones. The outreach will include branding activities and investor meetings in both countries.Key focus sectors include heavy industry, MSMEs, IT and region-based promotion of Chambal, Mahakaushal, Vindhya, Malwa and Bundelkhand.

Yadav said the initiative is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and is aimed at driving economic growth and employment in state.
