Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A youth died after a crocodile attacked him while fishing in a river in Chhatarpur district on Saturday.

The attack was so fierce that he died on the spot, leaving the villagers in shock and fear.

According to information, the incident took place in Ken River near Bhiyantal village in Chhatarpur. Where, he had gone to the river to catch fish when the crocodile attacked him unexpectedly.

This incident has created fear among the local people. Due to recent floods, the number of crocodiles in the Ken river and nearby ponds has increased. People believe that floodwaters have brought crocodiles from nearby rivers into the Ken river, making the situation more dangerous.

Villagers say they are living in constant fear, especially those who depend on the river for fishing and daily work. Despite repeated complaints, the forest department has allegedly not taken any action to warn people or control the movement of crocodiles.

Locals are blaming the department for their carelessness, saying that this tragedy could have been avoided if proper measures were taken in time. They are now demanding strict action and immediate steps for their safety.

The villagers have urged the administration to put up warning signs, restrict access to dangerous areas, and take serious steps to monitor crocodile activity in the region before more lives are lost.
