Chhatarpur Patwari Caught Accepting ₹4K Bribe For ‘Will Transfer’ In MP’s Sagar; Lokayukta Launches Probe

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A patwari was caught red-handed by the Sagar Lokayukta team while accepting a bribe of ₹4,000 at his residence in Chhatarpur on Monday.

The incident took place on Dheri Road in Krishna Colony of Chhatarpur district.
The accused, Shyamlal Ahirwar, had allegedly demanded ₹5,000 from Pushpendra Ahirwar, a resident of Nivaria village, in exchange for processing the name transfer of a will (wasiat).
The complainant had approached the Lokayukta after being harassed and delayed repeatedly by the patwari for the official work.

Taking the complaint seriously, the Sagar Lokayukta team verified the allegations and laid a trap.
During the operation, the patwari was caught red-handed while accepting ₹4,000 at his residence located on Dheri Road in Krishna Colony.
The operation was part of the Lokayukta’s ongoing efforts to crack down on corruption and ensure transparency in government offices.
Further investigation is currently underway, and additional details may emerge as the case progresses.
Authorities are also examining whether the accused was involved in similar acts with other villagers in the past.
