Car Carrying 'Police' Name Plate Crashes Into Bike & E-Rickshaw, Hitting Over 6 People In MP's Gwalior; Driver Suspected To Be Drunk

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Over half a dozen people were injured after a speeding Creta car crashed into a bike and an e-rickshaw in Gwalior on Thursday night.

The car carried a 'Police' name plate. It is suspected that the driver was extremely drunk and was running the car at a high speed when the accident happened. The crash left several people injured, with some said to be undergoing treatment a hospital in critical condition.

According to information, the car first hit a divider before ramming into the vehicles, leaving several people, including the driver, hurt.

Local residents rushed the injured to a private hospital, while Gwalior SP Dharmveer Singh and police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving the information.

The incident happened in the University police station area near Mishra Petrol Pump at City Centre.

The accident caused traffic jam in the area.

Witnesses said the speeding Creta hit an e-rickshaw parked at the corner of the petrol pump, injuring four passengers, before hitting a biker and finally overturning after colliding with the divider.

Eyewitnesses claimed the driver appeared drunk, and the car had the word “Police” written on it. All injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
