Bhopal: Pair Of Newly-Brought Asiatic Lions From Gujarat Spotted Playing With Each Other At Van Vihar; VIDEO

It is said that Van Vihar is the first wildlife park in Madhya Pradesh to have a pair of original Asiatic lions.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A pair of Asiatic lions was released into the display enclosure of Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal on Saturday.

The pair of Asiatic lions, brought from Shakkarbagh Zoo of Gujarat in late December, is expected to bring in more visitors, especially children. It is said that Van Vihar is the first wildlife park in Madhya Pradesh to have a pair of original Asiatic lions.

The visuals show the Asiatic lion and lioness enjoying each other's company in their new home. The handsome lion can be seen chasing its graceful lioness as they both play with each other.

When the pair of Asiatic lions was released into the display enclosure, it filled the surroundings with great curiosity.

The elated forest officials of Van Vihar are hoping that the footfall of visitors coming to see wild animals will be delighted to see the Asiatic lion pair.

It was under the animal exchange programme that the officials brought the pair of Asiatic lions and lioness from Shakkarbagh Zoo, situated in Junagadh of Gujarat. The Van Vihar sent a pair of tigers to Shakkarbagh Zoo in exchange for the bold and beautiful Asiatic lion pair.

As part of another animal exchange programme, it was decided to bring two King Cobras to Van Vihar from Pilikula Biological Park in Mangalore, Karnataka. In return, Van Vihar will send two tigers to the southern park.
