Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): ‘Love –Jihad’ led to communal tension in Sanodha village in Sagar district on Saturday. Heavy police force has been deployed to maintain law and order.

As per report, the accused eloped with the girl before her marriage. The bridegroom party (baraat) was set to come for the marriage on Saturday.

This triggered resentment in local public who demanded a kidnapping case be registered against the accused but police registered only a missing report. The public went violent over police act and set shop of the accused family ablaze.

MLA Pradeep Lariya informed Free Press, ‘It is a pure case of Love-Jihad in Sanodha village of Sagar district. The accused eloped with the girl just before her marriage. The public demanded a kidnapping case be registered against the accused but police registered only a missing report.

The public went berserk and set the shop of the accused on fire. The accused have criminal back-ground and have encroachment on property of Archeological Survey of India (ASI). Heavy police force has been deployed in Sanodha village.’

District Collector Sandeep GR said the law and order situation is under control in the village. After getting reports of a mob gathering in Sanodha village, the District Collector arrived at the scene with law enforcement and administrative officials, emphasising the priority of upholding law and order.

On the root cause of the matter, whether it is related to a ‘girl’ whom a man took away from a different community, the Collector said the priority of the administration was to control law and order. ‘Our prime concern is law and order and efforts are being made to ensure stability in Sanodha village,’ the collector assured.
