Bhopal: Lebanese Belly, Folk, Tribal Dance Of 15 States Mesmerise Audience

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Belly dance presented by six artistes from Lebanon captivated the audience under Deshantar at the open stage of Ravindra Bhavan on Tuesday, the third-day of five-day 40th Lokrang.
Lebanese belly dancing is a vibrant style that combines refined movements with energetic, athletic moves. It often features quick shimmies, kicks, backbends, splits and Turkish drops.
Lebanese belly dancers often use lot of floor space and may incorporate other dance forms into their performances.
Besides, artistes presented colourful folk and tribal dance of 15 states, which left the audience spellbound under programment titled Dharohar.
The dance included Shankhdhwani of Odisha, Chakri of Rajasthan, Jaunsari of Uttarakhand, Farwahi of Uttar Pradesh, Lavani and Koli of Maharashtra, Muria and Kaksar Gidi of Chhattisgarh, Kamasaale of Karnataka, Bonaalu of Andhra Pradesh, Dappu of Telangana, Ghoomar and Phag and Ghoomar of Haryana, Mor of Arunachal Pradesh, Mamita/Mosok Surmani of Tripura , Rauf and Dongri of Jammu and Kashmir, Matki, Gadli, Bhagoria, Badhai and Naurata of Madhya Pradesh.
The artisans from various states of the country have showcased handloom and handicrafts items at Shilp Mela. The wooden handicrafts of Andhra Pradesh are one of the major attractions.
The cost of an idol of Lord Gandesh and Tirupati Balaji, made of teak wood cost Rs 6 lakh - Rs 7 lakh . Some decorative items like hand fans, cups, teapots and trays in pattachitra paintings from West Bengal are also attracting visitors.
