Bhopal: Speedy car injures woman sleeping on footpath
According to reports, the driver was in an inebriated state. Soon after the incident, the driver of the car escaped from the spot.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A hit-and-run case was reported in Chuna Bhatti area on Wednesday early morning, where a speeding SUV hit a woman sleeping on the footpath, said the police.
Additional deputy commissioner of police Dinesh Koshal told Free Press that 12.15 am, a speeding SUV hit a family sleeping on the footpath in front of a private hospital.
According to eye witnesses, the driver was drunk and lost control over the vehicle. The SUV hit the road divider and overturned. As it overturned, it hit the woman sleeping on footpath. Her husband and son who were also sleeping there had a narrow escape. The car driver fled from the spot. The woman has been hospitalised.
According to police investigation officer Pande from Chuna Bhatti police station, car is owned by Aditya Dubey, resident of Saraswati Nagar. When the police contacted, he was not found on the address.
The police tried to contact car owner too. ìThe family of car owner said that a car hit their car from side, which led to accident. A woman was also sitting in the car who was car ownerís wife,î Pande added.
He said police tried to collect CCTV footage but did not get proper footage. ìThe police have called workers of nearby petrol pump to provide footage of cameras installed in their premises. With the help of footage, the police hope to identify driver and arrest him accordingly,î he added.
