Bhopal: Girl Duped Of ₹19.48 Lakh In Fake MBBS Promise; Police Launch Hunt For Accused Brothers
The girl and her father met the two brothers in March 2019, where the latter promised to help her complete MBBS degree from a private university in Russia for Rs 30 lakh.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A girl was duped of Rs 19.48 lakh on the pretext of obtaining MBBS degree from Russia, Bag Sewaniya police said here on Thursday. Police station incharge Amit Soni told Free Press that local resident Bhavana Dwivedi was duped by two brothers Mohammed Nadeem Khan and Irfan Khan, who run an overseas study consultant office in New Delhi.
Her father is a temple priest whose cousin’s daughter was pursuing MBBS in Russia. Her father’s cousin gave information about the two brothers. The girl and her father met the two brothers in March 2019, where the latter promised to help her complete MBBS degree from a private university in Russia for Rs 30 lakh. Soni added victim’s father paid the amount in instalments.
Bhavana Dwivedi started studies in Russia in 2019. This year was her last year but she was expelled from her university for not submitting fees. She told her father who called the accused brothers and told them that they should either submit her fees or return the remaining amount to them.
Out of Rs 30 lakh, the two accused did not pay Rs 19.48 lakh to the Russian university where Bhavana was studying. Soni added that accused declined to pay her fees and also abused her father. The police have registered an FIR against both the accused brothers. Efforts are underway to arrest them.
