Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An eight-year-old boy drowned in a pit filled with water under Parwalia police station limits. The boy’s body was recovered on Sunday morning. A case has been registered and further investigations were underway, police said.
According to reports, Devansh Pal of Mubarakpur left home on Saturday to play outside but did’t return. The family approached police after searching for him at all possible spots. Some villagers later claimed seeing Devansh playing near a pit filled with water.
Parwalia police and locals drained out water from the pit and found Devansh’s body. It is suspected that Devansh entered the pit and drowned. According to boy’s family, he was suffering from mental ailments.
35-year-old drowns in Kaliyasot dam, search on
Thirty-five-year-old Bhagwan Singh reportedly drowned while bathing in Kaliyasot dam at 3 pm on Sunday. According to police, Singh, a resident of Vidisha, had come to Bhopal to celebrate Rakshabandhan festival with his in-laws who live in Shahpura.
In the afternoon, he went to Kaliasot dam for a bath. Locals informed the authorities after he went missing in the water.
Rescue teams including divers and SDRF personnel reached the spot in the evening and launched an intensive search operation. However, despite hours of effort, no trace of the man was found. Officials said the search would continue.
Police have also appealed to people to avoid bathing or entering deep water bodies during the monsoon season as strong currents can pose danger.
