Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a new turn of events, the bride who fled on the day of her reception with her boyfriend has been arrested by police for stealing the jewellery given to her by the groom’s family. It came to fore that the bride, her boyfriend and his aide had planned her marriage with an intention to grab the jewellery.
Besides the bride, her boyfriend and his aide too have been arrested with the stolen jewellery and the car, police said. Ashish Rajak of TT Nagar was married to Roshni Solanki and their reception was to take place on February 19.
Roshni returned from the beauty parlour to the guest house at night and escaped in another car with her boyfriend Ritik Malviya. Ashish lodged a missing complaint but Roshni through a video claimed that she herself called her boyfriend and escaped with him.

Ashish who was expecting his bride to return informed police that Roshni also took his jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees. An FIR was lodged against Roshni, Ritik Malviya and Arbaz.
The trio was coming to Bhopal for a compromise with Ashish when they were arrested by TT Nagar police near Ayodhya Bypass on Monday night. TI Sudhir Arjaria said during questioning, Roshni informed that she was having affair with Ritik for past five years but their families were against their marriage as they were related with blood three generations back.
Roshni and Ritik then planned to get cash as unemployed Ritik had no money. As per planning, Roshni agreed for marriage with Ashish and escaped with the jewellery in the car with Ritik who arrived to Bhopal from Ganj Basoda with Arbaz. The car owner Arbaz also received some ornaments in return of helping them, TI added.
