Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An auto-rickshaw, carrying four people, fell into a deep rain pit in Jabalpur on Thursday. All four passengers were safely rescued.

The entire incident was recorded in CCTV installed in the area, which is now circulating widely on social media.

In the footage, the rickshaw can be seen moving forward when one side suddenly sinks into the drain, causing the two women and two children inside to fall into the water. The driver, along with another man nearby, is then seen helping the passengers come out safely. The drain appears to be quite deep.

The incident took place on the morning of June 26 around 9:30 AM near the main gate of Ghazi Bagh.

According to reports, the auto-rickshaw was coming from Raddi Chowki and was heading toward the banana warehouse road. As the driver took a left turn near the main gate, the drain beside the road, damaged for a long time and completely filled with rainwater, which was not visible.

As a result, the rickshaw lost balance and fell into the drain in slow motion.

There were two women and two children inside the auto. The sudden fall caused panic, and passengers began shouting.

Fortunately, the area was not crowded at that time. The rickshaw driver acted quickly and sensibly. He first rescued the two children and then helped the women get out of the vehicle safely.

Luckily, none of the passengers suffered major injuries.

This incident has once again exposed the poor condition of drainage systems in Jabalpur.

Despite ongoing cleaning efforts claimed by the municipal corporation, even light rain is causing waterlogging and hiding dangerous spots on the roads, putting people’s safety at risk.
