ASI Shot During Short Encounter In Damoh’s Jabalpur Naka; History Sheeter Caught With Illegal Weapons
According to information, Damoh Rural Police went to Marahar village to seize illegal weapons which were hidden by a wanted criminal, Kasim Khan.

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A short encounter took place in Damoh’s Jabalpur Naka on Thursday, during which ASI Anand Kumar sustained a bullet injury.
He was immediately brought to a private hospital in Jabalpur for treatment. The bullet passed touching his hand, fortunately, he is now out of danger.
According to information, Damoh Rural Police went to Marahar village to seize illegal weapons which were hidden by a wanted criminal, Kasim Khan. There are already 23 cases against him.
During the search, Kasim fired a bullet at the police which injured ASI Anand Ahirwar in his left hand.
Accused hit in the leg
In self-defense, the police fired back, hitting Kasim Khan in the leg. Both were rushed to the district hospital. Later, ASI Ahirwar was referred to Jabalpur for treatment, while Kasim Khan was sent to Sagar Medical College.
According to Superintendent of Police Shruti Kirti Somvanshi, Kasim Khan, also known as Kasim Kasai, was arrested in Nagpur for crimes including cattle slaughter and other offenses.
The police team from Kotwali and Rural Police Station took him to recover hidden weapons based on his information.
When they arrived at the location, Kasim suddenly took out a pistol and fired at the police.
Fortunately, ASI Ahirwar survived despite being shot in the left hand. In retaliation, the police shot Kasim in the leg.
Kasim Khan had been absconding for a long time, and a reward had been announced for his capture.
