Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Days after being beaten by an Excise Department officer for not paying 'vasooli', a liquor shop salesman in Jabalpur released a video statement expressing fear for his life.
He states, “Main chhupa nahi hoon, main yahin hoon. Agar mujhe kuch hota hai toh Sanjeev sir zimmedar honge.” (I am not hiding. I am right here. If anything happens to me, Sanjeev sir will be responsible.)

He further says, “Mere upar jhoothi dhara 34/2 lagaayi gayi hai.” (I have been falsely implicated under Section 34/2 of the Excise Act.)
The victim, Upendra Mishra, claimed in the video that he has not absconded and that the reports of him being on the run are false. He further said that if anything happens to him, Excise Assistant Commissioner Sanjeev Dubey should be held responsible.
