Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Jabalpur’s Dumna Airport reportedly received a hoax bomb threat via email on Sunday. The airport was immediately evacuated and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team immediately started investigation.
In about 3 hours of investigation, no bomb was found in the airport premises. After this, the airport management has lodged an FIR against the unknown accused in Khamaria police station. Similar mails have also been received at 40 other airports in the country.
Airport officer received the mail
An email received at the airport officer's mail address, in which it is written that “powerful explosive devices are hidden in packed bags around the airport. You have to evacuate the buildings immediately. You have to hurry, otherwise the people inside will be killed, they will lose their hands and feet. We are organizations named "Road Kill" and "Kyon" behind this terrorist attack.”
As soon as the email was received, the airport officials immediately swung into action and the terminal was evacuated.
Investigation at the airport lasted for three hours
BDDS, ambulance and fire brigade along with the police of Khamaria police station reached the spot. Officers and employees took charge and the BDDS team started investigation around the airport.
The investigation continued for about three hours. The airport's terminal building was also investigated, but nothing was found there.
Khamaria police station in-charge said that on Sunday, the airport management received a threatening email. After which, all the security protocols were followed and investigation was done. Nothing was found in the investigation. An FIR has been registered in the Khamaria police station in this matter.
