Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her live-in partner in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior. She alleged that the accused partner sexually exploited her repeatedly on the pretext of marriage.
The accused, identified as Shan Khan. He was in a live-in relationship with the woman for nearly two years
The two reportedly met during a wedding ceremony and became friends. Their friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship. The accused convinced her to live with him, promising to marry her. The 21-year-old woman agreed and the duo rented a house together. There, he allegedly established physical relations with her multiple times, assuring her they would marry soon.

However, whenever the woman brought up the topic of marriage, Shan would change the topic. Eventually, when she pressured him to make a decision, he refused to marry her and threatened to kill her if she persisted.
Feeling betrayed, the woman aapproached the police station and filed a complaint. A case of rape and criminal intimidation has been registered against the accused. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused, who is currently absconding.
The case highlights the growing security concerns around live-in relationships and misleading partners.
