Toyota’s TSEP Program in Mumbai Aims to Train Future Road Safety Leaders

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reaffirmed its commitment to road safety by successfully concluding the Annual Toyota Safety Education Programme (TSEP) in Mumbai. Hosted at the Sophia Bhabha Auditorium, Sophia College, the event marked the final leg of TSEP’s 2025 activities, which also took place in Bengaluru and Delhi.

Themed "Road Safety – My Right, My Responsibility," the initiative focused on educating school children about responsible road behavior, encouraging them to become safety advocates. The event saw the presence of key TKM executives, including Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer and Senior Vice President, highlighting the company's dedication to building a safer road culture in India.

India records the highest number of road accident fatalities each year, with over 1.5 lakh deaths, making road safety a critical concern. In response, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) launched the Toyota Safety Education Programme (TSEP) in 2007 to instill responsible road habits among students. So far, the initiative has impacted over 8 lakh students nationwide as part of TKM’s broader "Real World Safety" vision, which combines safer vehicle manufacturing, awareness campaigns, and infrastructure improvements. In 2025 alone, TSEP has educated more than 70,000 students and 600 teachers across 140 schools in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.

The program follows the ABC Approach—raising Awareness, encouraging Behavioral Change, and leading Campaigns to empower children as road safety advocates within their communities. Additionally, TSEP provides structured training for teachers to integrate road safety lessons into school curriculums, ensuring long-term impact.
