Mahindra has launched the BE 6e, its flagship electric SUV under the new BE sub-brand, priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Part of the Electric Origin SUV lineup, the BE 6e is built on the advanced INGLO EV platform, focusing on performance, efficiency, and sustainability. Its bold design features an angular bonnet, C-shaped LED DRLs, a sporty front bumper, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. A coupe-like roofline, full-width LED taillights, and an illuminated BE emblem on the bonnet add to its futuristic appeal. Currently, pricing has been announced only for the Pack 1 variant.
The INGLO Electric Origin platform combines a lightweight flat-floor skateboard design with ultra-high-strength boron steel for maximum safety and performance. It provides a spacious cabin, ample boot space, and improved comfort. Designed for efficiency, it supports high-powered e-motors and offers two battery options—59kWh and 79kWh—delivering an impressive range. With 175 kW DC fast charging, the platform enables a 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes. Its reinforced frontal structures further enhance crash protection, making it a robust foundation for modern electric vehicles.
The Mahindra BE 6e comes equipped with cutting-edge features for safety, comfort, and convenience. It boasts a 12.3-inch twin-screen setup in a sleek wraparound design, powered by the MAIA software platform with over 30 pre-installed apps. Enhancing its luxury quotient are a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and an augmented reality head-up display. The SUV also includes a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. On the safety front, it features Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a 360-degree camera, offering a secure and premium driving experience.
The Mahindra BE 6e offers two battery options, a 59kWh and a 79kWh, both using LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry for better energy efficiency. The batteries feature a cell-to-pack design that enhances energy density, extending driving range. The 79kWh variant delivers 277bhp, while the 59kWh variant produces 225bhp, both offering 380Nm of torque. The SUV's low center of gravity, coupled with a semi-active suspension and brake-by-wire technology, improves handling and stability. The BE 6e accelerates from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds with the larger battery. It offers an ARAI-certified range of 682km on a single charge for the 79kWh pack (550km WLTP). An all-wheel-drive variant is expected later, as the current model is rear-wheel drive.
